Gift Books for J6 Prisoners
Help brighten a Mississippi J6er's day by sending him a book.
Prisoners often spend hours in their cells, and books are a great way to help them cope with the isolation and pass the time. J6ers also share they are using this time to explore new topics and expand their skills. In response, book registries have been set up for those prisoners who expressed interest in receiving multiple books tailored to their interests.
Gift book registries are an easy way to have a book sent to an inmate. To access the individual book registries, simply click on the name below. J6ers who have not requested a book registry are also eligible to receive books, so please consider sending them an inspirational book as well.
Key things to know about sending books to J6 prisoners:
Books must be sent from a vendor like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Thriftbooks.com and not from a personal address.
Not all correctional facilities accept hardback books, so to ensure the book is accepted, please send PAPERBACK BOOKS ONLY.
Send one to two books at a time. Inmates are limited on the number of books they can receive in one mailing and the number of books in their cells.
Facilities accept both new and used books.
When sending a book that has not been set up through a book registry, remember to include the J6 prisoner's ID number after his last name when entering the shipping address. [For book registries, the shipping address has already been set up and includes the necessary information.]
These same rules apply when sending Bibles or Study Bibles to Federal Bureau of Prison correctional facilities.
